Summer Arts at IU Bloomington

The Bloomington campus is sizzling with fun, family-friendly arts offerings all summer long. With dozens of visiting artists and scores of theatrical and musical performances, summertime is art time at IU Bloomington.

IU Writers Conference

June 3-7

For more than 75 years, the IU Writers Conference has brought world-renowned authors and poets to campus for workshops and public readings that are open to the entire Bloomington community. This year's visiting faculty features Chris Abani, Mary Robinette Kowal, Morgan Parker, Alexander Weinstein, Rickey Laurentiis, Amy Kurzweil, and Samuel Autman.

IU Summer Theatre

June 2 - August 9

The IU Summer Theatre presents outstanding productions all summer long:

  • "Dames at Sea" - June 2-18
  • "Love's Labour Lost" - July 7-22
  • "Persuasion" - July 8-23
  • "Joe Schmoe Saves the World" - August 16-19 

Summer Music

June 14 - July 27

The Jacobs School of Music presents an array of musical performances throughout the summer featuring students, faculty, and visiting artists and conductors from around the world. Highlights include the Summer Philharmonic, with guest conductor Thomas Wilkins and piano soloist Arnaldo Cohen.
