Larissa Danielle has been a crucial part of our team, teaching visual arts courses and making education available to incarcerated students since IUPAI's beginnings in Spring 2022! Her classes teach students visual arts techniques as well as how to tell a story through the discipline.

Kenny Mitchell joined us in February 2026 to teach creative writing for IUPAI at Edinburgh Correctional Facility! His course centered on how creative writing can be a tool to harness imagination and memory to embody diverse perspectives of the world. Kenny encouraged and inspired his students to write regularly, work collaboratively, and read thoroughly. He included materials from different authors and genres to help his students gain a sense of how to develop a unique writing technique that can tell their stories the way they want them to be told.
Exhibitions are the primary way we make our work visible to the public. Our students are always excited at the opportunity to present their work and share their story with the outside world!

We had our first Webinar series in Spring 2022. See the links below to learn more about the excellent work being done to bring higher education to incarcerated populations! We hope to bring more in the future to further program development.
